ABOUT US

Our Mission is to empower men to live as sons of God. We desire to see men fully alive in Christ, and hope to contribute to the renewal of families and human society.

With the support and guidance of Bishop David G. O’Connell (of blessed memory), eight men started the Zion Mission House in 2017 within the San Gabriel Pastoral Region of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles — planting a seed for a movement of Catholic men committed to prayer, virtue, and mission.

In 2021, at the invitation of Monsignor Sal Pilato, we established our home in Gardena, California, serving alongside the St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

BUILDING A CULTURE

ATTITUDE OF GENEROSITY

Human dignity involves a generous disposition toward shared responsibility with a common good mentality. “The love of God is revealed in responsibility for others.” (Pope Benedict XVI)

PERSONAL GROWTH

God has called us to growth and creativity. In response to His grace, we intentionally set personal goals, enthusiastically pursue our vocation, and commit to excellence.

HEALTHY FAMILIES

Men of God prioritize and support family life by imitating Saint Joseph. They are lovers of virtue, living signs of strength and security, and anchors of hope. We believe that “the future of humanity passes by way of the family.” (Saint John Paul II)

RENEWAL OF SOCIETY

We are the light of the world! As disciples of Christ, we are called to establish the Kingdom of God by infusing society with Christian character. We proclaim the Gospel of Life expressed by Jesus and taught in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

OUR VALUES

Our values help us fulfill the expectations of Christ as faithful Catholic Men. Through these values, we live from a firm foundation and contribute to the renewal of families and society.

PRAYER

We are committed to Eucharistic Adoration with an intercessory focus in the Divine Mercy Chaplet, accompanied by contemplative silence. “When we make God the first love of our lives, our lives take on proper order. Our lives become integrated and whole. When we move God out of the center of our lives, our lives become disordered and will disintegrate.” (Fr. Dennis Mongrain)

WORK

We are all expected to pursue our personal vocation in response to God’s call through career development, parish involvement, and community roles. Making a gift of self on a daily basis is a great way to grow in the habit of Christian charity.

COMMUNITY

We focus on cultivating friendships by upholding the dignity of every person, healthy development of trust, weekly community meals, regular encouragement, and clear communication.

PATRON AND MODEL

Saint Joseph is a pillar of family life and guardian of the Holy Family. Known as the “Mirror of Patience,” he embodies strength, security, and peace. We entrust our mission to his intercession and strive to imitate his hidden holiness and faithful obedience.

TESTIMONIALS

"Zion creates this environment of mutual trust. It really gave me a good place to be authentic with other guys, which is very rare. It’s just like family, you can’t hide... Now that I’m getting married and planning to have kids, I see how much Zion has helped me be more prepared to be a father."

Vince Munoz, Alumni

"I can definitely testify to the healing aspect of Zion and the ‘manly’ factor where I became more free to explore my own masculinity. Like a refuge for broken men to be restored and encouraged to go back into the world as new vessels and reflections of God’s love it’s about building men up."

Daniel Suarez, Alumni

"Living in community at ZMH has been life-changing for me, especially at a time when I needed it most. It formed lasting friendships, strengthened my prayer life, and challenged me to boldly share the Gospel."

Arturo Serrato, Alumni
